Creative Curriculum

Our curriculum includes a variety of intriguing activities that stimulate early brain development with a focus on creative play.  Although it may look like kids having fun, it’s also learning in action.  Additionally we spend time listening to and talking with students.  This type of positive interaction encourages the development of emotional, language, and social skills, and enhances the development of a positive self-esteem.  To ensure that children at CCYC, are kept interested, excited, and engaged in learning we’ve incorporated an outstanding preschool curriculum as well as enhancement programs for your school-age child.

Our lessons are developed using our Creative Curriculum model – covering all curricular areas with a weekly or bi-weekly theme and fine arts component to enhance your child’s physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth.  Lessons are goal oriented and child focused based on the teacher’s observation.  Our teachers create an on-going assessment portfolio for your child and will meet with you twice a year for parent-teacher conferences.

In addition to the engaging classroom activities, we offer 45 minutes of gross motor play each morning and afternoon in either our gymnasium or on our shaded playground – depending on the weather.
